  1. Has anyone found an app that can OCR serial numbers into excel/text document or builtin database? For example, my girlfriend works at the DMV and needs to take inventory of license plates on hand. It would be so much easier for her if she could just use her phone to OCR the plate numbers into a single document.

  2. Text Fairy is a bull… it doesn’t work in other languages than English well enough. Bad recognition engine and impossible to turn picture into text. Sorry! Stay away from this!

  3. Hi,
I did not see any mention of the ABBYY FineScanner app which is available for both Android & IOS. Although I have not tried it yet as ABBYY have had more than 25 years in the OCR business I suspect that it will be quite good.
There is a free version of the app for Android, but you have to pay to get the enhanced features.

    • Rather try “Batch OCR – Multiple Images to Text Converter” from Play Store. It is a free platform with no distractions at all and works perfectly fine with all the languages such as Italian, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Romanian, Catalan, Romansh, German, Dutch, Norwegian, Danish, and Swedish.

  4. Google keep also has this feature

    add image in keep note
and select “Grab image text” option from there

i suggest you also add this to the list
