  1. A suggestion as a call recording app. I don’t like the idea of my recorded calls being on somebody’s server. As an iPhone user in Missouri, the law states that as long as one person in the conversation is aware of the recording it is legal. That said, is there a database that could be used to allow or inhibit recording to your phone based on your phone number or gps location? I would definitely buy an app like this!
    Thank you for your consideration.

  2. Nice to know that there are other solutions to record WhatsApp calls on iPhone. As for me, I am using the Acethinker iPhone Screen Recorder. It is so easy to use, so I stick with it for months now and I had no issues at all. You may give it a try also and perhaps include it in your list.

  3. Absolute lies not free everyone charges further demonstrating the outright parasitical nature of apple ois there is no way to get a free voice call recorder its either 60 seconds or you have to purchase it.

  4. I don’t understand what is challenge in making free call recorder app for iPhone ? Or app under 2-3 $
When ithere are free app available for android erosion

    • The short story is that Apple devices deny access to call audio from any app other than the in-built dialing app for security reasons (even voice recorders are forced to stop recording when in a call so that you can’t record loudspeaker audio on the same device – if they don’t follow this convention, they aren’t on the app store).

The workarounds are either to channel calls through a VoIP app (which has autonomy over its own audio data) or to utilise a third-party service which is *literally* just an additional call member that listens in and records the call externally (hence third-party service premiums).

Sure, one could claim that androids are less secure than iPhones for this reason, but jail-breaking iPhones used to require nothing more than visiting a website that injected code via the browser (the implications of which are terrifying), while exploits on Android devices tend to rely on the true and trusted method of duping a user into opening the door for them.

Ultimately, while most people would secure a room with a locked door (and accept that no door or lock is flawless), Apple’s approach is just to remove the door entirely and keep everything in sealed concrete coffins (ignoring the fact that even concrete has cracks while working very hard to cover-up anything exploiting those cracks with misinformation and threats). Assuming that the end user is too stupid to determine what’s safe for use on their device (which isn’t entirely untrue – most will happily click ‘allow access to everything’ for a crappy wallpaper app without even thinking about it), Apple concluded that it was better to just take away that freedom entirely.

Recording audio on my Samsung is difficult – I’ve only found one app that consistently records both sides of a conversation (with clearly-defined permissions which must be allowed by the user – the lock on the door that makes potentially insecure functions possible, such as accessing call audio data) as Samsung like to make things as difficult as possible, too. However, the app works without premiums, subscriptions, VoIP or third-party call-merge methods, and if they’re stealing my personal data (which would be difficult as I deny the app access to the internet)… well, honestly, I’ve chosen to take that risk.

  5. I didn’t check out the others but TapeACall isn’t a one time fee. I’d like to be able to purchase an app, as I don’t work for free either, but then that’s it. I wish the world would come together and stand against leasing of purchased software.

  6. After reading thru all this. I realized that the Android is the best that offers many more features that iPhone is not able to open up for public. apple seems to be completely commercial to the extent that the basic features are also being not offered openly.

  7. All iphone user must join to protest against paid apps#
There are available free apps for android but apple is cheating there clients,

  8. This was very helpful…. although Apple didn’t put a built-in recording app because they believed it would be a violation of privacy to record calls without the other caller’s permission… it’s quite funny how easy it was figuring out a way to outdo their efforts.

  9. The best of the best app is called CallApp it has everything you need, it even shows the address of the caller( for companies or if the caller has saved their address online), unfortunately, or fortunately it’s only available on Android. I don’t know why I am stuck to iPhone without this kind of freedom.
