  1. Hello everyone, it’s my first visit at this web site, and
post is in fact fruitful designed for me, keep up posting such
    articles.

  2. This is a list, which is slightly useful, but it basically says the same thing about each thing. Which ones are faster? use less memory? support (or fail to support) a useful format? have better or worse Finder integration? Install process? Commandline usable? Applescriptable? Any weird fancy features like, compress an app into a package? Multi-cpu parallel threaded? Work on large data like an entire drive image? Locked file handling? Delta backups? There are any number of things that an archiver might offer.

I have no way to choose between them from this article. I’d have to actually try them all, which I can do, but then what was your job if not to do that for us and write your findings? A simple list of available apps was already available by plain google.

    • Brian, Thank you for your feedback. We already highlighted the format each app supports. however, our editorial team will work on this article to update with the maximum details that they can collect.

  3. I have to agree with Brian. You could have a good page here. I’m 10 minutes into looking for a tool like this and I have already found elsewhere that Keka is available free if I don’t go to the App Store and that AES-256 encryption is off by default for Zip files but is the default encryption for 7Zip format.

Your article is the ‘best 5’ and I count 10. Then the list says some applications are from $0.99 to $29.99 and others are from $0.00 to $10.00. WHICH ONES?

A simple matrix of formats, features and prices at the top of the article would be useful.

    Thanks.

    • @HedRat,
Thank you for the feedback. We have updated key features and price of the applications. We couldn’t find out the supporting documentation on Keka website to highlight AES-256 encryption feature.

  4. I’ve not found any good unarchiver on Mac so far. I need something like winzip on windows. To get only 1 file out of a 5gb rar file I have to unrar every single file which is really a pain.

  5. Hi, I also checked online tools to unzip files like Unzip-online, and other offline tools from third party like iMyMac PowerMyMac. But I have a question here, how can I know if they are safe to use on my Mac?
