  1. Midori doesn’t work on Windows 10.

As of December 3, 2017, read the FAQ
“On which platforms does Midori run currently?
Midori is portable and should run on all platforms that its dependencies support. Releases exist on various Linux distributions, for Windows versions prior to 8.1 (for now), and BSD.”

    • I totally agree that k-meleon 76 is the best lightweight web browser since it provides extremelyIt fast and secure browsing experience. I downloaded the above mentioned “7 Best Lightweight Browsers” and spent some times comparing them to k-meleon 76 across a many websites,I would like to say that browser the above mentioned benchmarks are profoundly uninformative.

      • Open the folder where Midori is installed and search by entering “midori.exe”in the search box . Right-click on it n create a Desktop Shortcut. Double-clutching on the shortcut and start using Mee-do-ree. .

    • I messed around installing and uninstalling Midori because it crashed shortly after launching, always. Couldn’t get beyond that. Tried the portable version but coudn’t figure out how to launch it (Windows 10). I’ve given up.

  2. I may reccomend Chedot browser , it’s not popular but believe me it gets the job done without slowing your pc down.
It’s extreamly fast includes a media downloader that allows you to download videos from YouTube, Facebook and other sites, and convert it into audio files
Built-in VPN (Proxy) that allows you to visit blocked sites at work
Integrated ScreenShot that allows you to make a screenshot of a web page in one click and send the link to friends.
Built-in DownloadManager, which has convenient interface and allows you to continue downloading files in case of disconnection.
    Built-in WhatsApp messenger
All of that in 3 Mb size browser That’s why I like it.

  3. I’m just finishing my uninstall of Lunascape, it’s not lightweight. Nor is it even compact or user friendly, I’m running an Athlon at 2.4 GHz, but only have 2 GB of RAM at the moment. Lunascape opened a separate process for the Geko engine, and it seized my system until it crashed.

Opera Neon is good, but takes a little getting used to, and it doesn’t support webgl, which is unfortunate. Aside from that it’s a great little browser.

  4. I recently tested a bunch of browsers on Windows 7. I found Vivaldi one of the heaviest for memory use. One of the lightest is Slimjet.

  5. All browsers today use RAM for performance enhancement they are supposed to use a lot of RAM. Because RAM is fast and browsers tend to split processes up and isolate each tabs for security they will use more resources. Not sure any of these alternatives do much different? I would say pick your browser based on features not some theory that one browser is leaner then another. If your short of RAM or other resources their is no magic fix other then adding RAM or buying newer hardware. All modern browsers use more of all resources these days.

  6. Torch gets caught by Malware Bytes for installing bundled software without consent, being a browser hijacker, and other unethical practices. I wish I’d done more research before installing it because of the time its now taking to clean up the mess.

  7. Yep @John IL — Features over memory supposedly high resource. They all use it and one is not better than another in that regardless.

  8. Yandex browser. Based on Chromium and made in Russia.

The annoying thing is there is still plenty of untranslated Russian deep inside settings. And it piggybacks off Opera’s add-ons.

But it’s still good, and the devs are responsive. For general browsing and daily use, it is good enough to lure you away from official Chrome, Opera and Firefox.

  9. Brave Browser is good too. Complete Chromium-based browser with an integrated adblocker that makes it faster than Chrome and Firefox.

    • Thank you for the feedback and we were checking the browser in one of our systems. We will add it to the list in the next update.
