4 Easy Tips To Save Money While Filling Gas In Your Vehicle.

Gas Price Continues to climb record high level. It is important to keep an eye on your gas spending. There are few tips that you can keep in mind to save money while you driving your car and filling the gas.

If you are driving 15,000 miles an year with 25 MPG vehicle, you are consuming around 600 gallon gas per year. Over 5 years, you are burning around 3,000 gallons of gas that worth at least $9,000 at fuel cost $3.00 per gallon price.

Most of the modern vehicle shows you the speed that you can get maximum efficiency while you drive, and that optimal fuel economy speed is around 55mph. You can choose more fuel-efficient vehicle to improve the efficiency while you drive.

Gas Money Save

Here we are explaining few more things that can help you to save money while you fill the gas into your vehicle. These tips are also equally important like your driving habit to save money on gas.

Fill Up Your Tank Early Morning:

Only buy or fill up your car or bike in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. This is the most important tip that can save. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground, the denser the fuel, when it gets warmer petrol expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening…. your gallon is not exactly a gallon.

In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the petrol, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products play an important role. A 1degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations may not have temperature compensation at the pumps.

Do Not Squeeze The Trigger

When you’re filling up, do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode. If you watch, you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. In slow mode, you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapors that are created, while you are pumping.

Gas Pump

All hoses at the pump have a vapor return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapor. Those vapors are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you’re getting less worth for your money.

Fill Up When Your Tank Is Half Full

One of the most important tips is to fill up when your tank is half full. The reason for this is, the more fuel you have in your tank, the less air occupying its empty space. Petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine. Petroleum storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the petrol and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation.

Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated, so that every gallon is actually the exact amount.

Do Not Fill Up If There Is A Fuel Truck Pumping Into The Storage Tanks:

Another reminder, if there is a fuel truck pumping into the storage tanks, when you stop to buy, do not fill up. Most likely the petrol/diesel is being stirred up as the fuel is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom.

If you take care these additional steps, you can save money while you driving the car and filling the gas.
