  1. None of these appear to show me competing WLAN Network interference using an iPhone App. Android’s version of “Wifi Analyzer” apparently does this, but not their iOS version. I had to pay $22 through the Apple App store (for Mac OS) to get something that comes free on Android phones.

    • @Robert,
That is right. We couldn’t find out an equivalent iOS app for Android Wifi Analyzer. We contacted a couple of iOS developers and according to them, there have certain limits on iOS that limiting the Devs to create exact features like Wifi Analyzer App.

  2. In fact, none of these tools shows the available wifi SSIDs or competing wifi channels.
Is it just me, or is this a bit misleading? Since each of the products listed shows:
WiFi Scanner / Network Channel Scanner: Yes

  3. Actually, I was about to buy an iPhone and replace my Android Phone. Now, again I see this will be an issue. The analyzing tool showing wifi and the channels used is most helpful. Why not allow this?

Found this reply to a similar question:

To my knowledge, Apple has removed all such apps from their store.

  4. So, do I understand correctly (Robert Ford just above) that I can do a much better job of mapping the WiFi signal in my house with a cheap, used Android phone. I found a $20 Samsung SCH-i500 on eBay. Should I expect the WiFi Analyzer to work?

  5. DUDE! Thank you so much for writing this,
I know that We all use wifi regularly but how often do we check for it’s quality. WiFi analyzer apps for iPhone and iPad are a convenient choice for all sorts of users to resolve issues on WiFi networks. It helps you find the problems associated with your network and sometimes help to fix it.
