  1. Connect your iPhone to Mac using a USB cable.
  2. Go to Finder on your Apple menu.
  3. In the Finder’s side menu, choose your device under the option Locations.
  4. Choose the option Backup up all of the data on your iPhone to this Mac.
  5. To encrypt all your passwords, health, and HomeKit data files, select the box next to the option Encrypt iPhone backup and give a memorable password. The password will be stored automatically in the Keychain.
  6. Once done, click the Set Password button.
  7. Click the backup Now button to manually backup iPhone files.
  8. Click Ok once done.
  9. To view, the backup files go to Manage backup under the General tab in the same window.
  10. If you want to view or access the content of the backup file, go to the same page and click the Restore Backup button.

The backups are stored in the Backup folder. You can find a specific backup and choose to either delete, Archive, or show in Finder. It is worth mentioning that you can copy the backup folder. However, you should never move it to a different location, edit, rename, or extract the content of your backup file. This might damage your data.

  1. Firstly, install the latest version of iTunes on your Windows PC.

View Backup files in Windows PC
