The wireless earphone markets have become much ubiquitous than ever before. Many earphone companies and smartphone brands have started building high-quality earbuds from the entry-level to the extreme premium segment. Apart from popular brands like Harman, B&O, Sennheiser, Audio Technica, Bose, etc., many less known brands are out there with quality audio products and accessories. In our review section, we now got a premium wireless Bluetooth earphones named Crazybaby Air 1S.
You might not be familiar with the brand name Crazybaby. If the company name gives you an impression of a children-focused brand, you are probably wrong. The Crazybaby is an Audio equipment manufacturer, focusing on the wireless audio solutions. Air 1S is the company’s third-generation wireless headphone under the Air series, which comes as a competitor to Apple’s AirPod. Does it really worth buying? Let’s see.

What’s in the box?
The whole unit of the CrazyBaby Air 1S comes in a rectangular retail box along with its portable charging capsule. We can also find a smaller box within the main package with earbuds within, which resembles the Apple Airpod’s package. There are a couple of silicone ear tips and sports sleeves available in the package so that you can switch according to your convenience.

Design
Let’s start with the wireless earbuds. The company makes it in a unique design pattern but with some conventional elements of touch in many areas. Although the earphones are comfortable in the ears, some might find the overall size little bigger. But it does not matter for those who need a slightly bigger one to fit in their ears, and a better design than the AirPods.
However, it is not too heavy to go for a jog or a run. The design itself is made to resist the wind, making it suitable for running. The IPX6 water resistance certifications make it withstand against the water and sweat.
Being a successor to one of the first earphones with carbon nanotube diaphragm, the company also integrates a similar, better mechanism within the driver unit to produce crystal clear sound output.
Speaking technically, the Crazybaby Air 1S has a very less impedance than the Apple AirPods, thus needs only a little power to produce high-frequency sounds. Both the earbuds support tap controls including voice assistant (Google Assistant or Siri), playback controls, volume level changing, etc.
Crazybaby Air 1S comes with a portable charging capsule which integrates an inbuilt battery which can charge the earphones up to four times. There is a USB Type-C cable provided along with the package to charge up the capsule.
The company seems to have lost with the design aspect of the charger pod. It is not so compact as the AirPods. So, you might find it an inconvenient design to carry all the time in pockets. However, we can assume that the oversize is due to bump in the battery capacity.

Audio Quality
Being an AirPods alternative, the Crazybaby has tried their best to bring a good audio quality to the pair of earphones. Considering it as a standalone third-party branded headphone, this can be a better companion as a daily gear than your conventional or stock earphones. The listening experience stands above average and feels more like the AirPods.
When we tested the Air 1S sound quality with the flat profile, there was enough sound clarity. Also, it provides a great experience in acoustic music. There is no boosted bass effect on the ears, and feel more flattened during the normal listening conditions as well.
This helps to prevent losing the clarity to an extent. After a long-term usage experience, we felt the earphone is made for mild and mid-level music listening and not specifically for those who always listen to bass pumping EDMs.
With the help of microphones provided on each of the earbuds, we can make calls seamlessly and receive the sound without any noise or interrupts. Well, this delivers the most what we could expect from truly wireless headphones.

Smartphone Connectivity
Crazybaby Air 1S, on the connectivity side, sports a Bluetooth 4.1 chip which also pairs perfectly with the Bluetooth 5.0 versions. As a Bluetooth earphone, we were anticipating some usual connection troubles and sound delivery issues. Surprisingly, the Air 1S outperforms many competitors and reacts to the playback actions very well.
The connection seems considerably stable, but not a master of wireless connectivity. You can still use one earbud without the other as there is no all-time sync kept between both of them to be live always. If one of the pairs is lost, you can still go on with the other.
One of the bothersome things about the connectivity side is that it needs to be paired manually each time when you try to make a connection from your smartphone or PC.
Battery Life
The truly wireless earphones come with a decent battery pack on both the pairs. Overall we get over 11 hours of music playback. The company also offers 14 hours of voice call time and the earphone seems to deliver similar performance.
The charging pod, the long capsule, comes with an inbuilt battery to boost up the earphones. You only need to pull out the socket from the capsule and place the earbuds in position to charge. It can also be used as the earphone holder while not in use. Crazybaby Ir 1S takes over an hour to charge completely. Nevertheless, five minutes of charge boosts the battery to work for several hours. If you are traveling, you can still charge the earphones from the charging pill and extend the playback time up to 50 hours.

Features
There are some unique features that make the truly wireless headphones worthy. Let me list out and explain some of the key features below.
- Ergonomic design: The streamlined ergonomic design aspect of the earpieces of the headphones are way better some most of the other earphones. Also, it can stick to the ear even if we are running, with the help of replaceable ear tips.
- Water Resistant: Crazybaby Air 1S comes with an IPX6 certification. It seals almost all the ways to enter the water or sweat through the body. You can even listen to music in rain.
- Carbon Nanotube Diaphragm: The company’s USP for the earphones is the Carbon Nanotube Diaphragm which delivers the audio quality with 99.8% purity. It also resists the distortion to the least level.
- One-Button Control: Whether you want to control the playback or rock the volume levels, use the tap gesture on both of the earbuds without any hassle.
Supporting Apps
The earphone is coming with iPhone and Android apps that can enhance the capabilities of this earbud. The user interfaces support your phone music files, shuffle them and even you can use this app even without Carzybaby earbud.
You can use this app to optimize the sound quality by enhancing the bass, set outdoor mode, etc. The proximate sensor enables you to perform auto volume adjustment, that help to keep a consistent volume always.

Price
Crazybaby Air 1S is no different from its competitors considering the price tag. You need to pay US$160 for these sports-focused fully wireless earphones. When you compare the Apple AirPods, this price is a bit high. However, the device will go perfectly with both iPhone and Android without any issues. The company also offers price slash up to $60 sometimes and a good deal breaker for that price and you can directly order from CarzyBaby Store.
Verdict
Confused between the Crazybaby Air 1S and any other popular-branded wireless earbuds in the same category, like Apple AirPods? You can go for the Hi-Fi headphones if you are so fond of a somewhat flattened, clear sound experience on the earphones. Otherwise, you must go with some bass boosting headphones in the same category.
