Google and Microsoft are gradually discontinuing the inter-working support of their Apps one by one especially the Calendar Apps. Initially, Microsoft has withdrawn the sync facility by saying that the Google has to update their software for getting continued support. After that, Microsoft had removed the logging facility of Google email ID’s from their App.
This has affected millions of users which are using the Windows 8 OS and Google Calendar Service. A Google manual syncing program that is introduced long back to sync any calendars to Google was helpful to users to sync the Google primary calendars to the Windows Calendar App.
Recently, Google has retired that program too, may be to avoid the inter-working of these calendars further. Now we will see one more method to sync the Google Calendar to Windows Calendar using the Outlook.com App on any Android device.
First, we need to install the Outlook.com App provided by Microsoft in any of your Android devices and you can download into your Android device from Google Play Store.
During installation, this App will ask to input the Microsoft Account and Password. In that screen, you have to input your Windows PC logging credentials. Then Tap on “Sign in” to continue.

Now the App will ask your permission to access your device data and details. We need to accept this, and it will proceed further. Tap on “Yes” to continue.
Now the screen will open for setting the email settings like name, the frequency of mail checking and number of emails and more. We need to set this setting as our wish and Tap on “Next” to continue.
In the next screen, the App will give the permission to choose to select the Syncing of Contacts and Calendar. Here we need to select the Calendar option to get the calendar sync’d. After selecting, Tap on next to continue. The App will be completing setup and will start syncing the emails, calendar entries and contacts with your device calendar.
After few minutes you can check the settings of Outlook.com App to ensure the that the program has sync’d your contacts and calendar. You can also cancel the syncing from the settings menu.
Though the Outlook.com App is a little bit slow in setting up, it is synchronizing the data in the background between the Android device calendar and Windows Calendar App. This option can be used by the users till Google or Microsoft removes this App from Google Play Store or the issue between them resolved completely.
