4 Essential Things you should do before Lose your iPhone

Losing an iPhone, we can’t just think about it. It’s about the cost, your personal data, your photos, videos, passwords, bank accounts, and all the hours you’ve already spent perfecting its contents to the way you want them. Here are some ways to find your lost iPhone again. This WILL NOT work if your iPhone is already lost.

Be careful to backup your contact list and precious video file and images on external drive before you lose it. There is a workaround to Connect External Hard Disk to Home Network over WiFi without PC

Password Lock & Erase Data

You can use a passcode on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to protect your information and data. Each time you turn on or wake up the device, it will prompt for the passcode before you can access applications or information on the device. It is simply preventing from others playing on your iPhone and changing your settings or deleting application.

Keep IMEI, Serial Number

There are several precautions that we can try before losing it. One of such thing is keep your phone’s IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity ) and Serial Number in a safe place. It might be helpful to track the phone if you lost it in future.

Register and get a Apple ID.

Apple ID gives you easy access to a variety of Apple services, including the iTunes Store, Apple Online Store, iChat, Email, Contacts Back Up, Find iPhone, iDocs and more. You can get an email ID with ‘[email protected]’ if the user id available.. Apple is giving 5gb of space with one ID for all their service as free.

Setup free Find iPhone App.

If you misplace your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, it can be easily find out by using the Find My iPhone app. on an other iDevice or you can login with your iCloud account and locate the phone. It’s easy to activate this feature on your iPhone. All it takes is a few easy steps.

Set Passwords for sensitive applications.

We can’t tell you not to store any sensitive information on your iPhone. But we would say keep passwords for all possible apps in iPhone like Bank Account, Password Keeper, Emails, Dropbox. Do not leave sensitive apps as auto login. According to law enforcement, thieves don’t steal them to use them. They’re looking for account passwords, charge card information and online banking info.

Backup Always

Always backup your data with iCloud, if that not possible, at least backup it in your local computer. A local or iCloud copy will help you to retrieve your data if you lost for iPhone or if you lost your data in iPhone.iPhone USB Flash devices can connect directly on iPhone’s lightning connector and take backup of your phone with few taps on the drive app. These Flash Drives can backup all sensitive data like media files, contacts and documents from your iPhone to this drive with a single tap.
