How to Retrain Google Home to Recognize your Voice again?

Is google home no more recognizing your voice? Are you getting a message from Google Home “I can’t match your voice; Please retrain voice model in Google Home App.” Based on our experience with Google Home, we found on rare occasions; Google Home has some difficulty in recognizing account owner’s voice. When you ask some user specific commands to Google Home like “What’s my name?” or “How is the traffic to my Work,” or “Call my Mam,” Google may respond with the following.” This is embarrassing; I can’t match your voice, Ask me again“. The reasons may be a software glitch in the system or Google Home WiFi connectivity issue.

However, to proceed with your commands, Google Home has to recognize your voice. When you configure Google Home with your Google Account, Google home is accessing your account details and basic information about your name, location, contact details, etc. When Google Home stop recognizing your voice, that means, the Home device can’t check your account details to customize answer based on your location or other details. Before you move on to teach Google Home your voice again, please wait for a while and try again to ask Google Home “What’s my name?“. (Google Home support continued conversation) Google Home respond back your name if she can identify you, otherwise time to teach your voice to Google Home again.

  1. The Home device (air freshener model) had better voice recognition at the beginning. Since then I’ve retrained it several times and it is still not as reliable. Now the Google Home app won’t allow me to retrain it on an iPhone. It said the operation could not be completed several times, and now it is simply stuck on the training page I can’t Cancel or Continue. Deleting and reloading the app hasn’t helped.

    • Please make sure Google Home and iPhone connected to the same network. We have experienced that the app is taking a long time if we turn off WiFi on iPhone.
